  • Amicalola Falls: Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters", is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls—the tallest east of the Mississippi River. Activities include hiking, picnicking, trout fishing, ropes course and interpretive programs. If you forget to pack a lunch, there is a restaurant located in the lodge.

  • Fort Mountain: Fort Mountain derives its name from an ancient 855-foot-long rock wall which stands on the highest point of the mountain. Situated in the Chattachoochee National Forest close to the Cohutta Wilderness area, this park offers a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, swimming, fishing, miniature golf and pedal boat rental.

  • Smithgall Woods-Dukes Creek: North Georgia's premier trout stream, Dukes Creek, runs through this spectacular mountain property and is a favorite for catch-and-release fishing. Activities include trout fishing (reservations required), visitor center, nature trails, wildlife viewing stands and food plots, hiking, biking, nature photography and educational programs.

  • Unicoi: Nestled in the north Georgia mountains just two miles from the Alpine village of Helen, Unicoi is one of Georgia's most beloved state parks. The park offers outstanding programs which focus on natural, cultural, historical and recreational resources.   • Vogel: One of Georgia's oldest and most popular state parks, Vogel is located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The most popular time is the fall season when the Blue Ridge Mountains transform into beautiful hues of red, yellow and gold. Activities include hiking, fishing, swimming, pedal boat rental, CCC Museum, general store and miniature golf.
