- Georgia Marble Festival: The first full weekend in October brings a fun-filled celebration of the marble located in Pickens County. The festivities start on Saturday with a road race followed by a parade down Main Street. You can then head over to Lee Newton Park where you can enjoy arts & crafts, live music, clogging & dancing, classic car show, horse race, and a children's area. You also have an opportunity to take a guided tour of the world's largest open-pit marble quarry and mine.
